HOLOCAUST EDUCATIONAL TRUST

The beginning of 2018 I got the opportunity to create some work for the Holocaust Educational Trust. The work centered around “The Children of Willesden Lane” book, which had been turned into a a live show and concert..

GOODBYE

Purley illustrative and aimed at the school children audience that would be attending the shows. This illustration was based on an early extract from the book when Lisa was sent away to England with her love of music linking her to her family.

MUSICAL LANDSCAPE

A collage of the music from the show creates the basis of all the elements in this poster. The collage was then painted in watercolour to give it a texture. Finally photographed from above to give a bird’s eye view of the scene.

MUSICAL TRAIN RIDE

Two major factors in the story are music and Lisa’s incredible journey from her home to Willesden Lane. I decided in this last begin to make the train travel over musical stave/staff, used to read music from, as if it where a train track.
