A spontaneous trip to one of my favourite places and came across some curious coos on the way
For a recent university project I created a ‘person of interest’ article on the wonderful quirky Rob Walton, of Dashing Blades Barbershop in Coventry. I hoped to capture his lovely personality, wit and passion for his profession within these photos as well as trying to present the victorian inspired deco from his shop (which is amazing!)
I was lucky enough to shoot some candid wedding photos at this lovely wedding venue in Rutland. The actual venue, Fort Henry, was a surprise to guests and had to get alternative transport to the tiny, intimate ceremony. Bride and Groom turned up in their own minis. Such a lovely occasion. Here are a few photos from the day…
Winter was a beautiful time to capture the farm. Frosty cob webs, snowy paddocks, bare trees and ‘dragon’s breath’. Wintery mornings on the farm where quite possibly my favourite out of the whole year’s worth of photographing the farm. Quiet, crisp and peaceful.
Autumn was fun to photograph. The colours, smells and events throughout Autumn gave the farm a special and vibrant feel. As you can see from the photos, the farm definitely came alive!
Summer was bright and colourful, heritage was the focus throughout the summer as you can see from the photographs.
I was invited to complete a one year paid residency at Sacrewell Farm - an education centre and working farm on the outskirts of Peterborough. They wanted photos which documented the farm over the course of the year. Photographs would then be archived and used as stock footage for future marketing campaigns and merchandise if needed. I found my time at the farm invaluable. Not only was it my first contracted photography job, but the limitations of shots and camera angles where pushed to the limit in order to not seem repetitive in my data gathering.
My first ever wedding shoot! Lucky that my first time was at the beautiful location of Normanton Church in Rutland. Did you know that this church is the remains of a much bigger structure that is submerged beneath the reservoir . I was second camera to Helen Savage photography, and was in charge of taking more candid shots…here are a few photos from the day…
